Gratitude Journaling - Wrapping Up Our 21-Day Challenge

Hello, friends,

Welcome back to the final instalment of our 21-day gratitude journaling challenge series. Your enthusiasm and commitment have been truly inspiring, and it has been incredible to see this challenge’s positive impact on your daily lives.

Congratulations on Completing the 21-Day Challenge!

You’ve made it!

Completing this 21-day gratitude journaling challenge is a significant milestone, and it’s time to celebrate your dedication and hard work.

Over the past three weeks, we've focused on:

  1. forming a lasting habit of gratitude through daily journaling,

  2. and explored a particular topic using a versatile prompt.

We aimed to deepen our understanding and appreciation of our chosen subject by writing about it daily and from various angles.

Now that you’ve completed the challenge, take some time to review your journal entries from the past 21 days. Reflect on your writing and see how your thoughts and feelings have evolved. What patterns or themes emerge? How has your understanding of gratitude deepened?

This reflection can provide additional insights and reinforce your positive changes.

Final Reflections on My Gratitude Journal

Summary of My 21-Day Gratitude Journaling Journey

Throughout this 21-day gratitude journaling challenge, I focused on small daily achievements. I aimed to solidify a daily habit of acknowledging those small achievements, hopefully bringing other gratitude findings to the forefront.

Here are the key learnings and reflections from my journey:

Key Learnings:

  1. Mindfulness and Focus: Starting with simple tasks on May 13th, I learned the importance of clearing my mind to focus on activities that bring joy and fulfilment.

  2. Preparation and Positivity: On May 15th, I realised the power of preparation and staying positive, even in challenging situations.

  3. Self-Care and Recharge: Taking the afternoon off on May 16th taught me the value of self-care and recharging.

  4. Learning and Growth: Engaging with new content, such as the podcast on May 17th and signing up for a course on May 21st, thrilled me, as learning is one of my values.

  5. Creative Expression: Writing a chapter of my novel on May 18th and enjoying a sunny day on May 19th reminded me of the joy I feel when creating something in a lovely environment.

  6. Gratitude for Nature: The power of nature during a storm on May 20th reinforced my gratitude for the awesomeness of our lovely planet.

  7. Standing Up for Myself: Instances on May 23rd and May 30th emphasised the importance of standing up for my values and the strength it takes to protect them.

  8. Acknowledging Emotions: On May 25th, I recognised the ups and downs of my emotions, learning to acknowledge and ride through them without losing motivation.

  9. Community and Support: On May 29th, the joy of helping others filled me with purpose.

  10. Gratitude for Guidance: Sessions with my life coach on May 24th and ongoing reflections on the life wheel of happiness underscored that I am on the right track.

Final Reflection:

The saying that pops to mind every time I think of the last 21 days is: Everything is subject to change.

While writing in my journal, I understood how varied life is and how much we must deal with daily. Even after dealing with everything, everything changes in some way, shape, or form. Everything is temporary.

My final reflection: Happiness is not a flag in the ground somewhere off in the distance. It is the journey of small, enjoyable steps from one very near point to the next achievable, very close point.

“Through gratitude, we discover the beauty in both the journey and the destination.”

Conversation Corner

Jack and Jill met at their favourite park bench, holding their journals.

'Can you believe we’ve completed the 21-day gratitude challenge?' Jack said, a wide smile stretching across his face.

Jill grinned. 'It's incredible. How do you feel now that we’ve reached the end?'

'Honestly, I’m proud of myself,' Jack said. 'Focusing on small daily achievements helped me stay motivated. I noticed patterns in my entries that I hadn’t seen before.'

'What kind of patterns?' Jill said, curious.

'Well, I realised how important self-care and recharging are for me,' Jack said. 'And acknowledging my emotions has been a game changer. What about you? Any big takeaways?'

'Definitely,' Jill said, nodding. 'I learned a lot about mindfulness and the importance of focusing on activities that bring joy. Also, standing up for my values has become my strong theme.'

'That’s wonderful,' Jack said. 'And reviewing our journal entries really shows how much we’ve grown. It's amazing to see the evolution of our thoughts and feelings over these 21 days.'

'Absolutely,' Jill said. 'One thing that stood out was that everything is subject to change. It’s a reminder to stay flexible and appreciate each moment.'

'Right,' Jack said, smiling. 'Happiness isn’t a distant goal. It’s about enjoying the small steps. I think this challenge has helped me internalise that.'

'Me too,' Jill said, lifting her journal. 'Here’s to the journey and all our small, enjoyable steps. Thanks for being a great journaling partner, Jack.'

'Cheers to that,' Jack said, raising his journal. 'Let’s keep this habit going and continue supporting each other.'
